We started North Bench Harvest because I (Amélie) have an intense obsession with coffee and I roped Kyle into it. Once the idea percolated long enough for Kyle to get on board, we just needed to find our “why”, and what impact we wanted to make by roasting coffee.
We want to support farmers and purchase sustainable green coffee – from women as much as we can. We also wanted to honour the environment that we live in by buying our green coffee from higher elevation farms.
We also wanted to offer locally roasted coffee to the small town of Golden, BC.
We work as a team – Kyle is the reason the bearings are turning behind the scenes and Amélie does a bit of everything else. But her favourite part is cupping every coffee for quality. It’s just an excuse to drink more coffee.
We are hoping to start offering some of our garden produce at our local farmers’ market in the near future (hence our name). Stay tuned.
